Valentine’s day DIY

diy2_24With less than a week till Valentine’s, I decided to share another DIY project with you. It’s similar to the first one, because it’s not expensive and you can make these boxes for anyone. The size of my boxes is 7×7 cm (2.75 x 2.75 inches).

What you need:

  • card stock (I used a standard A4 format)
  • scissors
  • a pencil, black marker
  • colorful paper / wrapping paper
  • glue
  • a ruler
  • ribbon

diy2_1Directions:

diy2_41. Draw a template with a pencil (so you can erase the lines later).  I made one for you to print out and use – click to download   Or you can make your own, if you want a different size of the box. I think the template itself is so easy to understand, that instructions are not really needed, but I’ll tell you what to do anyways.

diy2_222. Cut the shape out, flip it over and decorate it.

diy2_83. Fold in all the tabs. I used a ruler, to make sure I folded the paper in a straight line.

diy2_10This is what you get.

diy2_94. Put glue on the smaller tabs and glue the sides together, and you should now have a box. :)

diy2_215. I put chocolates into one box, and tea bags into the second one.

If you want are a bit more creative, you can make your own wrapping paper to wrap the boxes in. Instead of using a template and printing the design, I just did everything with a black marker.

After you’ve wrapped the boxes, just take some ribbon and tie it around.

diy2_23And that’s it!

Hope you’re having a good weekend! And don’t forget to stop by in the next few days, because I’m going to share a recipe that is perfect for Valentine’s day.

xoxo
