Saturdays with Alice: Thinking, planning, …

How lovely are these flowers? Rok bought them to me last weekend, but I forgot to mention them before. I love fresh flowers, but I rarely buy them, because they die anyway. So what’s the point? But I’m realizing there is a point. They bring this special freshness into the home and for a few days everything seems different. And they’re not the same as the plants I have on my window shelf. They really just made me stop for a second, look at them and continue with whatever I was doing. The cats are a different story. When they see flowers all they do is focus on them, so I had to put them on a higher shelf to keep them alive for a few days (and to make sure the cats stay alive as well!).

Now, this weekend was supposed to be an organizing weekend.  I have so much things that need (re)organizing, that I’m slowly going crazy in my mind, trying to figure out how I’m going to do everything. But instead of getting to it, I start doing other things, which clearly doesn’t help.

So tomorrow is the D-day, I have to get all of my fabrics into one pile and just finally do it. And then decide where I’m going to do what (sewing, cutting, …), because I actually don’t have just one working space/corner. Aaand this is embarrassing, but I don’t exactly know how much fabric I have, so I’ll have to measure everything and write it down. I think once I sort things out, everything will be easier.

I feel like I’m complaining like a mad person, but you have days like these too, right?

So my to-do list for this weekend and the following week is:

• Organize fabric
• Buy a yearly planner (I still don’t have one, because I can’t find the exact one I had last year. Bummer! )
• Buy new fabric (?)
• Go to the library
• DIY project

There’s probably a lot more that needs to be done, but the really important stuff is on this list.
